U-Dig Fossils Visitor Experiences at U-DIG Fossils Return to Home

I, a single mother of 3, decided to take my children ages 12, 9 and 6, Fossil Digging for their Spring Break from school. We drove over 1,000 miles to get there. We arrived late and, Gene, our guide was gracious enough to stay late with us while he showed my 3 children exactly where to go to find the best Trilobites. The road out to the site WAS indeed ominous and there is no cell service what so ever, so be sure your vehicle is running well. However, the 20 mile gravel road is very drivable but for my Volkswagen Golf, it was a little hairy at times. My children and I had a fantastic time on this small adventure. Together we found about 20-30 fossils! They have enjoyed taking them to school and sharing them. They have even donated some of them to our local Jr. High and Elementary School for their science curriculum. We are hoping to make it out to you again in the future and will bring friends with us. We are looking forward to Geode digging as well! Thanks for an outstanding time with my kids that we will never forget!

You might recall we were there with you last week and found two Trilobite specimens in the same rock that were, I think you called them, crystalline. (They had sparkles in/on them.) In case you want it here is a picture of them. Each measures right at or a touch over 2 inches. The finger tip is for a size relationship or perspective. We had LOTs of fun at your quarry. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for a very enjoyable experience. I took my 6 year old grandson to your quarry on the 3rd of July 2006 and he had a ball. He found 2 really nice specimens and I collected several.
